Low Fat Hot Chocolate Recipe

Heart Healthy Recipe Diabetes Recipe
This hot chocolate is quick and easy to prepare on a cold winter afternoon or as a light after dinner dessert. It is smooth and has a full flavored chocolate taste yet low in fat and high in calcium.

Ingredients

    • 1 level tsp unsweetened cocoa
    • 1 tsp sugar
    • 1 cup hot skim milk

Preparation

    • Stir together and serve
    • Milk: 2% vs. Skim: - You might think that milk labeled "2% Fat" is 98% fat-free. That's not true. The percentages of fat on milk cartons are by weight, not by percentage of total calories. It's calories from fat that you want to limit. An 8 oz glass of 2% milk has nearly 5 grams of fat. Read the chart below. Then switch to skim or 1% milk.
